Blaise Pascal described human beings as “the glory and scum of the universe”. Each of us carries blueprints for an astonishing range of social behaviors, from the heroic to the atrocious. The Crockett Lab seeks to understand this paradox by investigating the psychological and neural mechanisms of social decision-making and impression formation. Molly Crockett holds a BS in Neuroscience from UCLA and a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Cambridge, where she held a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. Prior to joining Oxford, Dr Crockett worked with economists and neuroscientists at the University of Zurich and University College London, studying human decision-making with the support of a Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Wellcome Trust.
