Institutional, industry and organisational responses are shown to be failing in this regard. Some members of Professional audiences still do not believe in climate change. Their ethics will not help.
Universities wanting a lecture on RIBA 2030 Challenge wont pay for an hourly paid Technical lecturer, so will rely on the aesthetics, Snappy graphics and philosophy brigade to teach that subject, no hope there then.
Why has it taken so long for Education to work all this out?
RIBA education committee objected to our (Specifies Design Forum) campaign 20 years ago for specification to be taught “Who do you think you are to challenge us?” Attitude prevailed then, hope you have a bit more success today.
Sadly bad cost planning and procurement layers and distancing will continue to thwart efforts to fix building performance.
