Situation selection as a strategy for people who need help regulating their emotions

Situation selection involves choosing situations based on their likely emotional impact and may be less cognitively taxing or challenging to implement compared to other strategies for regulating emotion, which require people to regulate their emotions “in the moment.” Thomas Webb is a social psychologist, interested in self-regulation and behaviour change. Specifically, he is interested in how people achieve their goals and make changes to their behaviour.
