Sir Charles Bean discusses a history of the Bank of England. Sir Charles Richard Bean was previously Deputy Governor for Monetary Policy at the Bank of England from 1 July 2008 until 30 June 2014. From 2000 to 2008, he served as Chief Economist at the Bank. Professor Bean was also a member of the Budget Responsibility Committee of the Office for Budget Responsibility from January 2017 until December 2021.
