The architect Peter Bishop is Professor of Urban Design at The Bartlett School of Architecture. Although he trained as an urban planner at the University of Manchester, he has spent most of his career in the British capital, where he has been planning director in four different Central London Boroughs and has participated in major projects such as Canary Wharf, the BBC campus at White City or the transformation of Kings Cross. In 2006, he was appointed as the first Director of Design of the municipality and, in 2008, as chief executive of the London Development Agency. In 2011, he began collaborating with private firms as Allies and Morrison Urban Practitioners and Berwin Leighton Paisner. Moreover, he is design advisor to the Mayor of London and president of the Architecture Centre Network.
