The conclusions are, and the implications really are to us, right? The things that, certain regimes do may seem a little bit irrational, or they may seem like overkill, quote unquote, right?

Like how come They, I mean, if they could have, for example, if they could have taken their dissidence to court, even if it was a kangaroo court, some kind of sham trial, and get them, you know, sentenced to death, why didn't they do that as opposed to, you know, the way they did it, which was very clumsy, you know, very blunt.

And, when I say that it has to be explained, what I'm saying is that there has to be a reason why certain governments are doing certain things, which we consider, you know, irrational or which from our point of view, go too far, right? And that's what I try to do in the article.

Understanding Military Regimes' Repressive Actions

It's just, it's just something that needs an explanation. And as I said, right, the explanation lies in, the goals, you know, that different autocracies have, the ways in which they come to power, and yeah.
