Esports’ impact on players’ health, especially at higher levels, has become a topic of discussion. To address the health needs of elite esports players, a qualitative study was conducted, interviewing members of the Portuguese FIFA eFootball National team. The study identified four major themes: the definition of health, factors affecting mental and physical health in esports, and strategies for improving players’ health. The findings highlight the importance of optimizing esports training, promoting healthy lifestyle habits, enhancing facilities and equipment, and providing mental health support for esports players.
