Immigrants encounter challenges when adapting to a new culture, which can affect their health behaviors and outcomes. A survey conducted in Finland, Norway, and Sweden with 340 participants revealed that health beliefs and access to health information, particularly through the Internet, significantly influenced immigrants’ intentions to engage in health-related actions. However, the adoption of healthy behaviors was hindered by perceived barriers. This underscores the significance of information professionals providing culturally relevant health information and resources to immigrants, and policymakers considering cultural factors and information sources in health promotion efforts for immigrant populations in Nordic countries.
