Research shows differences in investor and manager motivations for sustainable finance, specifically value versus value motivations. These differences often lead to misunderstandings about environmental, social, and governance investment approaches. The finance research community has the responsibility to address these misunderstandings through additional research. Clearing up these misconceptions is crucial for advancing sustainable finance.
