In the 21st century, there is an increasing emphasis on transnational or global governance in research and action. International Political Economy (IPE) provides a more comprehensive understanding of the global context compared to International Relations and International Economics. However, IPE lacks in global policy analysis. To improve policy effectiveness, scholars should combine insights from IPE and Global Public Policy.
