And the other thing was Sarah Evans's personal politics effectively ended in 1968, which was just

So there was that. As a graduate student, I was also aware as somebody who had been, as I said, sort of tangentially involved in activism, that there was this sort of culture wide in America, this sort of forgetting

And it's true that there are people who have

Many of them were, many of the men involved were hostile to feminism and some of the women too. there was another big difference, I would say between radical feminists and socialist feminists, which was that radical feminists really wanted to start from scratch.
00:10:20 - So while they were anti-capitalist, and quite explicitly so they also believed that Karl Marx and any, any other important left wing thinkers that you could think of, didn't know anything about women. And what they had, like engles, what they had advanced, was not of much use to them. So they wanted to start from scratch, and they wanted,
00:10:48 - to practice something that was called consciousness raising, where women would talk amongst themselves in small groups about their experiences, and from those experiences would try to build theory. Now, this was something that in many ways, I wouldn't say that socialist feminists didn't practice C cr, but this was forged by radical feminists.
