Ready To Learn is an effective children’s media program targeted toward America’s most at-risk kids, but made available to all families and children across the country. The program is an innovative partnership between Congress, the U.S. Department of Education, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, PBS. Alejandra Salinas is an assistant professor of mathematics education at Boston University. As a mathematics education and professional development specialist on PBS’ Ready to Learn initiative, she is also involved in developing professional development materials to help early childhood educators effectively implement technology such as video games, multimedia, and interactive whiteboards.
