‘Parts & Labour’ was an experimental art project devised and curated by John Chilver (Goldsmiths, London) and Brighid Lowe (Slade School of Fine Art, University College London).

First staged in London 2012, then expanded and re-staged in 2014, in Osan, Korea, artists were invited to send instructions for actions or operations to be done to a pre-defined kit of materials, in no more than two hours paid labour. Parts and Labour is an on-going experiment devised to reflect upon the material conditions of art production and the hierarchies and value of authorship and interpretation.
