The appeal to partnerships as the effective means of delivering policing and community safety has been an established mantra in crime control and crime prevention policy for nearly three decades now. Adam Crawford is Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice in the School of Law at the University of Leeds and Director of the Leeds Social Sciences Institute. He is Director of the N8 Policing Research Partnership, a collaboration between universities and policing partners in the north of England engaged in research, co-production and knowledge mobilisation. He is co-investigator on AHRC project “The future prospects of urban parks” and the principal investigator on the ESRC research seminar series “Markets in Policing” (2015-17). His research has focused on policing, urban security, community safety partnerships, the regulation of public space, restorative justice and victims of crime.
