Beldi Matters: Negotiating Proper Food in Urban Moroccan Food Consumption and Preparation

In urban Moroccan open-air markets, halal labels are rare. Instead, the lawfulness of meat and other food products is taken for granted by the mainly lower income consumers shopping in them. Furthermore, dietary laws are never elaborated on nor part of popular discourses, as they are in multi-faith or Muslim minority societies. Katharina Graf discusses Beldi Matters.
