Thorpe-Ingold Effect on Polymer Conformations

These polymers are highly folded, and a bulkier alkyl substituent (such as the isopropyl group) on silicon may exert Thorpe-Ingold effect that can bring the adjacent chromophores to closer proximity resulting in changes of photophysical properties.
