The Bristol chronicles record unusual weather events that caught the attention of the chroniclers: severe floods, extreme frosts, destructive storms, droughts, unseasonal blizzards and poor summer weather that led to food shortages. The entries suggest that Bristol’s weather during the Grindelwald Fluctuation was not just cold – it was highly erratic, resulting in a series of extremely destructive weather events. Evan Jones discusses.
