Addiction psychiatry is a medical subspecialty within psychiatry that focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of people who are suffering from one or more disorders related to addiction. Cyrus Abbasian is a Consultant Psychiatrist (BSc MBBS MSc FRCPsych) senior lecturer and addictions teaching lead in the Section for Interdisciplinary Studies of the Institute of Medical and Biomedical Education at St George’s, University of London.
