Inclusive Hiring in Academic Libraries: Qualitative Analysis

Academic librarian hiring practices vary across institutions and positions, often mirroring the processes of academic departments. However, these processes can be exclusionary and fail to consider the needs of diverse candidates. To promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, academic libraries should critically examine their recruitment processes and prioritize inclusive experiences for applicants. This examination should encompass all aspects of the process, from position announcements to job offers.
