Reverse diversity audit to evaluate a dermatology collection

Recommend Faculti to your librarian, HOD, or research lead.

A reverse diversity audit is a new method that evaluates diversity in a specific topic area by creating a list of materials and checking their presence in a collection. We applied this method to assess the diversity of dermatology resources in an academic health sciences library. Through the audit, we identified 55 important resources, 43 of which were available through our library system or as open access. This organized approach can be adapted for different topics and areas of diversity, making it useful for other libraries looking to assess diversity in their collections.
