Separation of phenolic compounds from water by using monoterpenoid and fatty acid based hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents

Recommend Faculti to your resource manager

Nitrophenol-based chemicals, commonly used in agriculture as fungicides and pesticides, pose significant health and environmental risks, contributing to groundwater contamination and causing respiratory, ocular, and hematological-related health issues.

Hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents (HDES) offer a non-toxic, renewable, and biodegradable solution for water treatment, effectively removing 2- and 4-nitrophenol compounds from contaminated water with extraction efficiencies of up to 95%.
