According to a study investigating the timing of physical therapy (PT) initiation and its impact on opioid use risk in individuals with knee osteoarthritis (OA), delaying PT initiation was associated with a higher risk of opioid usage. Furthermore, the study found that the longer the delay in PT initiation, the greater the risk for opioid use. The research emphasizes the importance of initiating PT within one month to effectively reduce the risk of opiate use among individuals with knee OA. These findings highlight the significance of timely PT intervention in managing opioid use in knee OA patients..
