Hip Arthroscopy Outcomes for Femoroacetabular Impingement

Recommend Faculti to your resource manager

Hip arthroscopy (HA) assessed outcomes of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and related chondral lesions. 24 studies involving 3,198 patients and 3,233 hips were analyzed. Patients with Outerbridge grade III and IV lesions showed limited improvement in patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). Autologous matrix-induced chondrogenesis (AMIC) had lower conversion rates to total hip arthroplasty (THA) and revision arthroscopy compared to microfracture. Patients with severe cartilage damage may not achieve the same level of success even with HA.
