This study examined the 12-month risk of a second ACL injury in individuals with and without GJH who returned to competitive sports following ACL reconstruction (ACL-R). ACL-R patients aged 16-50 treated between 2014 and 2019 were evaluated using a rehabilitation-specific registry. After returning to sports, GJH patients had nearly five times the risk of a second ACL injury. Patients returning to high-intensity sports after ACL-R should examine joint laxity, according to the study.
