Physical Activity and Cancer Recurrence in Stage III Colon Cancer

Recommend Faculti to your resource manager

A study examined how postoperative physical exercise affects cancer recurrence in stage III colon cancer patients. Based on self-reported physical activity, they classified 1696 patients as active or inactive. Athletic patients had a decreased chance of disease recurrence than inactive patients, especially in the first year of treatment. Physical activity after surgery may reduce cancer recurrence and enhance disease-free life. Patients with stage III colon cancer may benefit long-term from physical activity following surgery.
