Sleep Interventions’ Impact on Athletic Performance

A systematic review studied athlete sleep treatments. The review examined 25 2011–2021 studies. The best ways to improve sleep quality and performance were sleep extension and napping. Mindfulness and light manipulation also worked. Further research is needed to corroborate these findings. Sleep duration at night or napping was the most effective method for improving athlete physical and cognitive performance.
